Our 2008 Orphan is vibrant purple in color with a bright red rim. Aromas of plumb, leather and wet earth with overtones of vanilla, caramel and pencil lead fill the glass. The entry is soft, balanced and layered with black fruits, fig and a touch of spice. The mid palate is fleshy and fruit forward, segueing into a finish lightly touched by unusually soft tannins and nuances of new French and American oak.
